Controlling an answer
Stop an answer, regenerate it with a note, and copy or rate what Nalar wrote.
You stay in control of an answer while Nalar writes it and after it's done. Stop it if it heads in the wrong direction, regenerate it with a note on what should change, or copy and rate it.
Stop an answer
While Nalar is answering, the send button turns into a stop button labeled Stop response. Select it to end the answer.
- Any text Nalar already wrote stays in the conversation, marked Stopped. It isn't treated as a finished answer.
- If Nalar hadn't written anything yet, the conversation shows that the answer was stopped.
- Tables or documents that weren't finished aren't offered as finished files.
- Your question stays as you sent it, and anything you were drafting for your next message is kept.
After stopping, you can copy the partial text or send a new message. The new message starts a fresh answer; output from the stopped answer can't appear in it.
Stop doesn't undo actions
Nalar stops at the next safe point. If a step that changes something was already running when you selected Stop, it may still finish. Stop ends the answer; it doesn't reverse an action that already happened.
Response actions
Under every finished answer are four actions. Hover over or focus an icon to see its name.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy | Copies the answer as Markdown text. |
| Thumbs up | Rates the answer as helpful. |
| Thumbs down | Rates the answer as not helpful. There is no comment field. |
| Regenerate | Writes a new answer to the same question, with an optional note from you. |
These actions appear on every finished answer, including answers that are only a table or a document. A document or table also has its own actions; see Artifacts.
Copy keeps Markdown formatting marks, such as ** around bold text and | between table columns. If you paste into WhatsApp or an email, those marks appear as typed characters.
Regenerate with a note
Regenerate when the answer is close but not right, such as the wrong period or too much detail.
Select Regenerate
Select Regenerate under the answer. Nothing happens until you confirm.
Add a note, if you want
Describe what should change. The note is optional. Without one, Nalar answers again using the same conversation.
Use the full quarter instead of the last 30 days, and show the result as a table.Confirm
Nalar writes a new answer. When it's done, the new answer replaces the old one, together with any tables or documents that came with it. There is no version picker to go back to the old answer.
If the new answer fails or you stop it, the previous answer stays. Regenerating never widens the data an answer can use.
Suggested follow-ups
After some answers, Nalar suggests follow-up questions. Select one to send it right away. Anything you were drafting in the message box stays where it is.
Suggestions appear only under the latest answer, and not every answer has them.
Choosing a model
You don't choose an AI model in Nalar. Your workspace's configuration picks it for you, and there's no model setting in Chat. You choose who answers with the Agent selector instead; see Ask about your business data.
