Requesting Agent changes
Agent settings are managed by the Nalar team during beta. Here is what you can change yourself and how to ask for the rest.
During beta, the Nalar team manages every Agent's settings for you. No one in your workspace, including Workspace Owners and Admins, can edit an Agent directly. When something needs to change, you ask, and the Nalar team makes the change.
What the Nalar team changes
Ask for a change when you need any of these:
- an Agent's name or description;
- the Department Head of a Department Agent;
- an Agent's capabilities, such as turning on Web Search;
- the data sources and tables an Agent reads;
- which Members can use an Agent, including granting a Sub-agent to a Staff member or removing that access.
What you can do yourself
Documents are the exception. Anyone with access to an Agent can upload documents to it, and some roles can choose which Sub-agents read them or replace and delete their own uploads. See Documents for Agents.
Ask for a change
Check the current setup
Open the Agent's details and note what needs to change: a missing data source, a capability that's off, or a teammate who isn't in the Access list. See Agent details.
Send it to your company's contact for Nalar
Your company has a designated contact who passes change requests to the Nalar team. Workspace Owners, Admins, and Department Heads coordinate requests with that contact. Include the Agent's name and what should change.
If you are Staff, ask your Department Head or workspace admin to coordinate the change for you.
Check the result
After the Nalar team makes the change, open the Agent's details again to confirm it. A Staff member who is granted a new Sub-agent sees it in My Access without signing in again.
Good to know
- A change never reaches beyond the parent. A Sub-agent can't be given data or capabilities its Department Agent doesn't have. If a Department Agent loses a data source or capability, its Sub-agents lose it too. Restoring it on the Department Agent doesn't restore it on the Sub-agents automatically; the Nalar team reviews each one.
- Department Heads. Each Department Agent has exactly one Department Head. One person can be Head of several Department Agents. Changing a Head is a request to the Nalar team.
- No Edit Agent button. If you still have an old edit screen open from before, it can't save changes. Close it and check the current details.
