Agent details
Read an Agent's details: what it covers, the data it can read, its capabilities, and who can use it.
Agent details tell you what one Agent represents: what part of the business it covers, which data it reads, what it can do, and who can use it. Check them when you want to know whether an Agent can answer a question before you ask, or why an answer used the data it did.
Select any Agent on the Agents page, in Org chart, Cards, or My Access, to open its details over the page.
The header and summary
The top of the details shows the Agent's name, its level (Master Agent, Department Agent, or Sub-agent), and a description of what it covers. Below that is a summary that depends on the level:
| Agent | Summary shows |
|---|---|
| Master Agent | Its data sources and capabilities |
| Department Agent | Its data sources, Members, Sub-agents, and Department Head |
| Sub-agent | Its Department Agent, Lead, Members, data sources, and enabled capabilities |
Below the summary are tabs for Sources, Documents, and, if your role can see who has access, Access. On a keyboard, use the Left and Right arrow keys to move between tabs, and Home or End to jump to the first or last.
Sources
Sources lists the business systems the Agent reads from, such as SAP, Accurate, or Google Drive, with a short description of what each covers. A system appears once, even if the Agent reads many folders or tables from it. If the Agent reads data whose origin hasn't been confirmed yet, the entry says Source pending identification.
Under the sources is the list of data tables the Agent can read. Each row shows:
- the table's business name and description;
- the source it comes from;
- when it was last updated, as far as Nalar knows.
If a table doesn't have an approved business name yet, the row says Business name pending and shows the table's technical name as secondary detail. You can search the list by name, sort it A to Z or Z to A, and page through it.
Documents
Documents lists the files the Agent can read: each file's name, description, size, who uploaded it, and when. It includes files uploaded to this Agent and, for a Sub-agent, files shared down from its Department Agent.
From this tab you can upload documents to the Agent. Documents for Agents covers uploading, replacing, and deleting.
Capabilities
Capabilities are the things an Agent can do beyond reading data, such as Web Search, Dashboards, or WhatsApp. The details show which capabilities are enabled and which aren't.
A Sub-agent shows how many of its Department Agent's capabilities it has. A Sub-agent can have fewer capabilities and less data than its Department Agent, never more.
An Agent's capabilities decide what it can do for you in Chat. For example, Nalar searches the web only through an Agent that has Web Search; see Sources and activity.
Access
What you see here depends on your role.
Workspace Owners, Admins, and Department Heads see the Access tab, titled with the number of Members who can use the Agent. Each row shows a Member's name, email, department, and role. A Department Head's access to the Sub-agents in their department is shown as coming from the Department Agent they lead. You can search by name or email, sort the list, and page through it.
Staff see a Your access summary confirming that the Agent was granted to you, instead of the full list.
Seeing an Agent's details doesn't change what you can do with it. Access is set by the Nalar team; see Requesting Agent changes.
When details don't load
If part of the details can't load, the rest stays available and the missing part is marked so you can retry it. If nothing loads, the details offer Retry and Close.
If you lose access to an Agent while its details are open, they close and you return to the Agents page.
