Chat through WhatsApp
Ask Nalar from WhatsApp, in a direct message or a group, with the same access you have on the web.
Your workspace has its own Nalar number on WhatsApp. Message it the way you would message a colleague, and Nalar answers using the Agents and data you can already use on the web.
Before you start
You can talk to Nalar on WhatsApp when:
- your workspace admin has turned on WhatsApp access for you,
- the phone number on your member profile is the one you message from, and
- for direct messages, your workspace has replies to direct messages switched on.
Having WhatsApp access doesn't give you any extra Agents or data. Nalar answers with the same access you have in the app.
If Nalar doesn't reply, ask your workspace admin to check your WhatsApp access and phone number.
Ask in a direct message
Send a message to your workspace's Nalar number. Every message you send in a direct message gets an answer. There are no commands to learn.
You can send:
- Text, the same way you type in Chat.
- Voice notes. Nalar transcribes them. If it can't make out what you said, it tells you, and you can send it again or type it.
- Images, with or without a caption. Nalar reads the caption and the image together.
- Documents such as PDFs. Nalar reads the text in them, and only part of a very long document.
What were our top five products by sales last week? Each answer names the Agent that handled it. Nalar picks the Agent for you, the same way Auto works in Chat. You can't choose an Agent in WhatsApp.
Ask in a group
Once Nalar's number has been added to a WhatsApp group, anyone in the group with WhatsApp access can ask it something. Tag Nalar in your message, or reply to one of its messages. Nalar ignores everything else in the group.
Adding Nalar to a group doesn't give anyone in the group new access. In a group, Nalar uses the access of the person who asked.
Keep the conversation going
Follow-ups work the way they do in Chat: Nalar remembers what was said earlier in the same WhatsApp chat.
To stop an answer that's still being prepared, send a message such as "stop" or "cancel".
Your WhatsApp conversations stay in WhatsApp. They don't appear in your Chat history on the web, and nothing you do in Chat on the web changes them.
Charts, reports, and files
When an answer includes a chart or a report, Nalar sends it as a link or as a file, depending on how your workspace is set up. Links to reports open in Nalar and need you to sign in. Someone you forward a link to can only open it if they're in your workspace and have access to the same data.
If Nalar can't send something in the form you asked for, it says so and offers a text summary instead.
Good to know
- Nalar replies in the language of your latest message. A few fixed system messages, such as access notices, are in Indonesian.
- If you ask about data you don't have access to, Nalar tells you it can't help with that and points you to your workspace admin. WhatsApp doesn't create access requests.
- Copying, forwarding, or reacting to a message in WhatsApp doesn't send feedback to Nalar.
